Community Involvement

Ferguson Construction / Company Perspective / Community Involvement

Being involved in local communities helps to build trust and camaraderie. Ferguson Construction enjoys being involved in our communities by serving and helping those around them beyond the construction site.

Ferguson Construction and our employees are actively involved in:

United Way – Employees voluntarily donate to their local United Way campaigns.

American Cancer Society – Employees raise money through various fundraising events throughout the year and finish with the Relay for Life of Shelby County 18-hour cancer walk every August. Some of our fundraising events have included – silent auction bake sales with goods made and bought by employees, yard sales selling items for donations given by employees, internal office 50/50 raffles, and Touch-A-Truck event. Ferguson Relay for Life team donates at the Jade Level Achievement or higher to the local chapter each year.

Job and Career Fairs – Ferguson participates in job and career fairs across Ohio and Central Indiana. We also go to local career tech schools and give presentations about a career in construction.

Canstruction is a friendly competition between local companies to create and build a 3D object out of cans of food. During the event, the public can vote for their favorite can structures on social media. Awards are given to the participants for the most cans in their structure, the best meal, and a people’s choice award.  After the event, the cans of food are donated to the local food bank.

Ferguson’s employees have enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of helping create, building, and voting for the company’s can structure(s) each year. The can structures that have been built are a giant hard hat and a large boot.

Down Syndrome Society – Employees raise funds to help bring awareness and support the Down Syndrome Society’s programs. In September, employees along with their families and friends have the opportunity to walk in the Bubby Walk at Dayton Air Park (Fifth-Third Field) in Dayton, Ohio.

Workforce Partnership of Shelby County – Ferguson is one of 42 local employers who work with area schools to educate and prepare students for careers right out of high school.
