Project Estimator

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for developing conceptual budgets and firm price proposals along with a variety of other pre-construction tasks for both the design/build and plan/spec project. We are looking for a detail-oriented, numbers guru to see projects through. The perfect candidate is skilled in conceptual and schematic estimating, as well as design-build estimating.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Research plans and specifications and identify any special material or construction requirements to determine the general scope of work.
  • Determines accurate and detailed quantities of products and related specialty materials as measured from construction plan sets. Accurately identifies the type of material necessary for the construction of facilities.
  • Meets with owners/engineers/architects to assist with or suggest specific design/build concepts.
  • Actively works with the sales team to design successful bid strategies. Assists in bid preparation and ensures customers receive quotations in a timely manner.
  • Tracks and monitors competitor pricing to determine the market value of bids.
  • Coordinates and reviews the work of other estimators or sales staff.
  • Plan, assign, monitor, and review progress and accuracy of work, and evaluate results.
  • Develop an approach to creatively solve problems and produce effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiar with Sage Estimating or equal software knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Office.
