A Night of Awards

Quality Projects Get Notice

Joe McGovern, Jeff Schlater, Josh Holloway, and Jim Reed with the two eagle awards for United Grinding and Dannon Midwest Distribution Center.

This year at the Ohio Valley Associated Builders and Contractor’s (OVABC) Excellence in Construction Awards Gala, Ferguson submitted three award winning projects.  The United Grinding of North America’s new office and manufacturing facility won an Eagle award. This building is a 105,000 square foot, state of the art building that was completed within a year. In addition to this, the Dannon Midwest Distribution Center won an Eagle award. This facility is a 278,000 square foot refrigerated storage building and is also Ferguson’s largest design/build project to date. Finally, Bensar#40 project won a pyramid. This building is a 480,000 square foot, pre-engineered warehouse that only took 8 months to design and build.

The Excellence in Construction Gala honors innovative and high-quality construction projects. The awards are judged on complexity, unique challenges, workmanship, safety, and cost.  The highest award that a project can receive is an eagle award. The eagle award honors the most prestigious construction projects in the Ohio Valley.

Also at this event, Ferguson’s very own Russ Mead and Kevin McCormick were honor with their Construction MBA after completing the ABC Leadership Forum this past year. The Leadership Forum is a program through OVABC that teaches how to have succeeded as a project executive in a construction firm.

In addition to this, OVABC recognized Ferguson Sidney’s Special Projects Department for their safety program. Ferguson’s own Russ Mead, who is the Manager of the Sidney’s Special Projects Group, accepted the award.

Congratulations to all those who were honored at the awards gala!
