PROJECT OVERVIEW
Cooper Farms, proudly standing as the seventh largest turkey producer in the United States, produces over 330 million pounds of turkey every year. They recently teamed up with Ferguson Construction for a vital addition: a new chiller facility at their St. Henry plant. This project came with its unique set of challenges, including the need to keep the plant running smoothly during construction and meeting the strict safety and regulatory requirements of a food-grade facility. The build involved stainless and galvanized steel, extensive HVAC and plumbing installations, sloped concrete floors in most areas, intricately sloped concrete curbs, and plenty of food-grade caulking.
Because of hard work and experienced planning, the chiller facility was completed on time and within budget. This significant milestone allows Cooper Farms to boost their operations, streamline production processes, and create new job opportunities—a fantastic win for the company and community!
