Touch-a-Truck Turned Five!

Ferguson Construction Celebrates Its Fifth Annual Touch-a-Truck

Ferguson Construction’s Touch-a-Truck and Garage Sale brings the community together for a family fun event. For the past five years, participants have enjoyed the various trucks and large equipment while raising funds for Shelby County Relay for Life.

Ferguson has hosted a large garage sale for the past seven years with donated items from the employees and their families with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society via the Shelby County Relay for Life.

These two events were combined two years ago and have enjoyed success through the growth of participants, donations and businesses involved.

This year’s event was marked by early morning rain but did not deter shoppers or operators and first responders from interacting with families and their equipment. An added bonus was enjoyed with the Shelby County Animal Shelter bringing two adoptable rescue dogs to the event.

Kathy, who organizes the event, is always amazed by the support of the community. She said this about the fifth annual Touch-a-Truck, “The support we receive from our friends with big equipment to share with young and old alike, as well as the donators of the unbelievably wonderful stuff to sell by donation, to the people that come to enjoy what is here and the generosity for the Relay for Life of Shelby County. OH! Wow! I am always humbled and so proud of our community!”
