Westrafo

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Westrafo, a global manufacturer of high‑voltage power transformers, selected Trotwood, Ohio, as the site of its first American production facility. Ferguson Construction was selected to design and build the 231,000‑square‑foot facility, which included 216,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 15,000 square feet of offices. The project required tall crane bays, recessed pits, specialized foundations for ovens and autoclaves, and abundant natural light through perimeter windows. Adding to the complexity, the project had an immovable 12‑month deadline. Ferguson’s in‑house design‑build team, self‑performing trades, and strong project management enabled the team to deliver the facility two weeks ahead of schedule.

Close collaboration with Westrafo’s international leadership ensured seamless communication and alignment. The completed facility positions Westrafo for long‑term U.S. growth and is expected to bring 230 new jobs to Trotwood and the region.
