Dayton foodbank

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Ferguson is honored to have built a strong partnership with The Foodbank, playing a role in bringing several of their vital projects to life. In 2013, Ferguson Construction completed the original 31,000-square-foot Foodbank building, designed to facilitate efficient warehousing and distribution. As the community’s needs grew, so did the facility. Between 2018 and 2019, we expanded the building twice, including the addition of a drive-thru area in 2017, specifically tailored to enhance food distribution services. This enabled The Foodbank to serve even more families with greater efficiency, reinforcing its role as a crucial resource for the community.

By 2021, we further expanded the site, adding a 6,000-square-foot space for bulk food storage and a 4,700-square-foot area equipped with a freezer and cooler for perishable items. Completing these additions was critical, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, as The Foodbank faced an unprecedented demand for its services. Ensuring the facility’s readiness during this challenging time allowed The Foodbank to continue its essential operations, making a profound impact in the fight against food insecurity.
